A Typical Day in PE

Warm ups

≥ 5 minutes

“Warming up helps prepare your body for aerobic activity. A warm-up gradually revs up your cardiovascular system by raising your body temperature and increasing blood flow to your muscles. Warming up may also help reduce muscle soreness and lessen your risk of injury.” -https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/exercise/art-20045517

Examples of warm ups to gradually warm up cardiovascular system-

  1. Jog a certain amount of laps
  2. Jog and walk a certain amount of laps
  3. Jog to a certain spot and back (if outside)

Dynamic Stretching

≥ 5 minutes

“When you put your body through a series of stretches while in motion, it sends signals from the brain to the muscle fibers and connective tissues in that area to prepare to do work. ... Many studies have shown that dynamic stretching can help increase power, improve flexibility, and increase your range of motion.”
